The Client
Our client is a US-based, full-service business law firm ranked among the Am Law 200, with over 1000+ attorneys across multiple cities. With more than a century of experience, the firm provides legal services across corporate law, litigation, real estate, labor and employment, and intellectual property.
The Challenge
The firm’s legal workflows were largely manual, time-intensive, and difficult to scale. While there was growing interest in GenAI, there was no structured approach to adopting it. The CIO and Director of Technology identified the need for a unified platform and partnered with Maruti Techlabs to build it.
Key challenges included:
- Inability to efficiently process large legal documents (300–1,000+ pages)
- Lack of a clear roadmap to prioritize and implement AI initiatives
- Heavy reliance on a single individual for AI-related decisions
- Limited transparency and strategic direction from the existing vendor
The Solution
To overcome these challenges, Maruti Techlabs acted as a strategic technology partner, going beyond execution to design and implement a custom AI-powered LegalTech platform tailored to the firm’s workflows and day-to-day activities.
The platform combined three core modules:
- Chat: A conversational interface for legal research, contract review, drafting, and case analysis
- Search: Fast, source-grounded retrieval across the firm’s internal documents and knowledge base
- Agents: Task-specific automation for high-volume workflows like document drafting, due diligence, and data extraction
Under the hood, the platform leveraged a scalable cloud architecture with asynchronous processing and intelligent workload handling, ensuring performance even for large, complex legal tasks.
